Appointments & Prices
Physiotherapy sessions are available at Physio Pilates Retford on Chapelgate, Retford. If you are unable to attend the clinic, a limited number of home visits are also available*.
*Home visits are only available within a 10-mile radius of Retford. There will be a surcharge to cover travel time and costs; this will be discussed and agreed prior to your initial appointment.
Initial Consultation:
Initial Assessment:
Your initial Physiotherapy appointment will last approximately 2 hours split over 2 sessions, and will include a thorough assessment of your current and past medical history. Any scans, reports and medication lists are helpful at this stage; there may be questionnaires to complete and a physical assessment will follow. The content of your assessment will vary depending on the condition that you are seeking treatment for, and may include analysis of your posture, movement, balance, walking, muscle strength, muscle tone or flexibility.
Recognised and validated outcome measures are used to set a baseline to work from, and we will discuss your own personal goals. If you present with a complex condition, it may not be possible to complete the whole assessment at your first appointment, but this will be discussed with you and a treatment plan for the elements assessed will still be commenced.
Follow-up appointments:
These appointments are usually 55-60 minutes. We will continually assess you during these sessions and treatment may include hands-on Therapy, exercise-based Therapy, education and advice. Shorter appointments are available if fatigue is a limiting factor, but typically the longer appointments result in better and faster improvements for most clients.

* Communication and clinical administration may include any time spent outside of your treatment session communicating with you or with other healthcare professionals, carers, or family members involved in your care (by phone, email, text, letter or in person), writing up specialist prescribed exercise programs, writing reports, training carers or family members, or researching equipment providers specifically for your needs. This an essential part of your treatment, and if you choose to engage in our services then you are also agreeing to these costs if required.
